We'll know our fate early today with three selections on Newcastle's BAGS card, third first of which being AERO INFERNO (Trap 2) in the two-bend sprint at 12.27. The selection wasn't really a factor on last week's return, but this is an easier D2 and the 17.40 sec he clocked in a trial prior to that suggests he's up to landing this.
It's fair to say that KUSH KUSH (Trap 5) has been very expensive to follow in recent times, finishing third on no less than four of her last five starts. There has to be a worry whether she possesses the will to win nowadays, but she is the pick on the clock in the 13.44 so is worth another chance.
The finale on the card at 13.58 is probably the most informative contest of the lot given there are three totally unexposed runners taking on a couple of well-established performers. CROOKS PABLO (Trap 5) is in the former category having transferred from Ireland in the autumn, and though he failed to land the odds last week, that was a race full of promise, and he could be end up quite a bit better than A3 Newcastle class.
