Timeform on Brooklyn Road
Brooklyn Road makes plenty of appeal in the opening race at Romford, the 14.12. The selection has finished runner-up in his two races since being downgraded from A4, meeting a bit of trouble each time, but the opponents facing him here are a notch below those two starts and two wins in this grade in the last few months suggest he can take this with a clean run.
In the 15.47 at Belle Vue we are keen on the chances of Skiproe James. The stripes is the sole wide runner in this A4 contest and, possessing relatively good early pace, should be in a good position by the first bend in a race lacking fast starters. This race looks a touch easier than the contest he was runner-up in last time and given he stays very well he is sure to be thereabouts if turning handy.
Handicaps are often difficult to unpick and the 20.29 at Sunderland is potentially tricky given the two dogs with the biggest starts are pups who could make plenty of improvement, but the case for Cairns Lulu is very solid. The grader is asking much less of the selection than in his last two handicaps and though he never threatened on either occasion, he'd have gone close to winning both with a clear run. He's a confident selection.
