Timeform pick out their three best bets from Newcastle on Thursday...
"...he’s a largely reliable trapper and we’re expecting to see him in a much better light this evening..."
Timeform on Ryves Duke
Good Magoo (Trap 5, 18.39) was a shade unfortunate to bump in to one in resurgent form when runner-up in a C&D handicap last time and Angela Harrison's charge is fancied to make her presence felt here. An excellent winner in open class at Sunderland 3 starts ago (backed up by the clock) she just needs to escape crowding to put up a bold showing here.
Gazilly Shay (Trap 6, 19.26) has long since established himself as a classy operator for Gary Carmichael and, it was no surprise to see him capitalise on the drop in to A1 class last time. A versatile performer, he boasts winning 6-bend form and in a race lacking depth, he is fancied to continue the good work.
The Newcastle Greyhound Stadium Standard features at 19.57 and it may pay to side with Ryves Duke (Trap 6) who hasn't been seen to best effect of late. Establishing himself as a leading local back in June, assignments at Sunderland/Monmore have seen the son of Ballymac Eske encounter his fair share of trouble-in-running. However, he's a largely reliable trapper and we're expecting to see him in a much better light this evening from the striped jacket.
Good Magoo (Trap 5) - 18:39 Newcastle
Gazilly Shay (Trap 6) - 19:26 Newcastle
Ryves Duke (Trap 6) - 19:57 Newcastle
