Timeform provide three selections from Sheffield in search of winners on Thursday...
"However, this is comfortably his easiest assignment (on paper at least) he has faced for a while, and comfortably topping our ratings, he is fancied to come out on top."
Timeform on Scotchrath
SCOTCHRATH (Trap 4, 15.48) has clearly had issues to keep him off the track for the majority of the winter and, whilst retaining a fair amount of ability judged on recent trial/race exploits, trouble-in-running has hindered his claims of getting seriously competitive. However, this is comfortably his easiest assignment (on paper at least) he has faced for a while, and comfortably topping our ratings, he is fancied to come out on top.
LOLOS SUSIE (Trap 2, 17.22) boasts a record of 1-9 at Sheffield, yet in truth she has largely had improvement hindered by trouble-in-running. Norman Melbourne's charge looks to hold a good position in the blue jacket in a race likely to see several early paced types taking each other on from the get go, and she can play her hand from the ¾ point.
SUNTAN LADY (Trap 1, 17.38) has struggled to get seriously competitive in A7 grade of late, yet her last visit to the grade of A8 resulted in a facile success, and whilst she may have to come from off the pace, we're hopeful Troy Bedford's charge can have enough to come home in front.
