Timeform pick out their three best bets from Sheffield and Newcastle on Thursday...
"...he has been given a sound chance of ending the drought..."
Timeform on Canny Jet
GEELO STEEL (Trap 3, 17.06) faced much sterner assignments having scored in this grade at the start of the month and, in truth wasn't disgraced despite finishing fourth last time out. However, the grader's mercy has immediately been noted and with a handy position on the cards the March 17' whelp can capitalise.
Remaining at Sheffield BLACK EYED JENNY (Trap 4, 18.11) has slowly gathered full fitness following seasonal rest and whilst well beaten back over 4 bends recently (has scored twice in sprints) those exploits ought to have served a purpose. Dropped a peg on the graded ladder, the daughter of Kinloch Brae rates the likeliest leader and a much better showing can be expected back in her favoured black jacket.
Over at Newcastle CANNY JET (Trap 4, 20.29) struggled to make an impact in A6 grade n recent months but he was far from disgraced in handicap company latest, finishing runner-up. His record in A7 class reads well and whilst slow starts will always be a cause for concern, there is no doubting he has been given a sound chance of ending the drought.
