Timeform provide selections from Sheffield in search of winners on Saturday.
"...he should only need to avoid crowding to play a lead role this evening."
Timeform on Burnt Oak Beano
LINDRICK LONER (Trap 2, 19.02) on the face of it ran well to finish as close as she did to an on-song Russelena Hawk in a C&D handicap earlier in the week and back in a standard event a big run looks on the cards. Interestingly she comfortably tops the Timeform sectional figures with a rating of 92 (closest rival 76) and whilst little separates the field on master class ratings, the fact she is expected to build up a sizeable advantage early, comfortably sways the pendulum in her favour.
An hour later one hound who looks to have been granted a good opportunity is BURNT OAK BEANO (Trap 6, 20.08). Okay, he is firmly into the veteran stage but still packs a punch at the lowly level of A8 and has twice gone close recently. His recent efforts rate superior to those of his rivals and markedly in front by our estimations with a Timeform master rating of 61, he should only need to avoid crowding to play a lead role this evening.
There is no doubt SWIFT SAM (Trap 1, 21.18) has his own ideas about the game, often getting the job done by the minimum margin, highlighted by last week's display. His effort on the clock was hardly flashy but we know enough about him to expect a quicker run when necessary and the grader may have underestimated him dropping back to this 480 metre trip. He tops our figures on a mark of 101 and in a race featuring plenty of competition for the lead, he can play his hand fast and late and prove the stronger.
