Timeform Greyhound SmartPlays: Saturday 23 March
Timeform pick out their three best bets from Monmore and Sheffield on Saturday evening...
"She boasts a nice blend of speed and stamina for the 500m trip and is the one to beat on the clock..."
Timeform on Geelo Suzi
The first of three evening plays arrives in the opener at Monmore (18.33) with BARRACK RUBBLE (T6) taken to exploit a good make-up. The selection did well to finish second last week given the trouble he encountered and the return to the stripe jacket will help his cause no end. That fact that Corrin Sophie on his inside is a habitually-slow starter strengthens his case further.
The key to Monmore's 19.23 contest could be the early speed on the outside between KERRYLANE DREAM (T6) and Marlfield Salah. The latter is unexposed and very much going the right way, but Kerrylane Dream appeals as the stronger stayer so if she can keep tabs on that rival early she has the form in the book to assert late.
The final of the Steel City Cup clearly takes centre stage at Owlerton this evening, but from a betting perspective, GEELO SUZI (T5) is the most interesting proposition in the 20.08 Open contest. The selection was established as an A1/2 performer at the track of most of last year but she's developed into a high-end performer in recent months. She boasts a nice blend of speed and stamina for the 500m trip and is the one to beat on the clock, yet she isn't favourite on the early shows.
Barrack Rubble (Trap 6) - 18.33 Monmore
Kerrylanr Dream (Trap 6) - 19.23 Monmore
Geelo Suzi Trap 5 (20.08) - Sheffield
