Timeform on Knockglass Vixen
Sheffield's 15.07 is a distinctly weak affair on paper, yet one hound stands out as the unexposed one in the line-up in the shape of KNOCKGLASS VIXEN (Trap 1). The daughter of Confident Rankin hasn't set the world alight to date, yet is open to improvement at a low level and in a race that won't take much winning by any stretch of the imagination, she can play her hand late and come home in front.
GEELO WALKER's (Trap 2, 15.47) record stands at 0-9 and his career has been somewhat stop-start having showed ability earlier this summer. However, the grader has given him a chance of turning handy at the very least and, with recent trials entitled to have blown the cobwebs away, he can get off the mark this afternoon.
Over at Nottingham, the Greyhound Media Group Maiden Trophy features at 21.06, with SOMERMEAD GUEST (Trap 5) fancied to continue the good work having made excellent strides forward on the graded scene of late. She turned in a career best effort in A2 class last time, and with that effort standing up well on the clock in a race lacking depth, a clear run should see her play a lead role once more.
