Timeform Greyhound SmartPlays: Friday August 3

At Hove this afternoon, T4 Trapper Willie is an interesting runner in the 18.02. A close third in his last race despite meeting all the trouble going, he has run enough good races in A5 and A6 company over the last couple of months to think this drop into A7 will see him back in the winner's enclosure.

The 19.50 at Towcester is a very low-grade D4 sprint and it is difficult to look beyond the claims of T5 Lilys Flyer. The orange has been bumped at the first bend in recent races so hasn't achieved much, but this is a significantly easier opening and if she gets a good break she should prove far too good for these.

The 20.05 at Towcester this evening can go to T5 Sophies Eclipse. The selection has bags of early pace and not surprisingly has coped well switched to shorter trips in recent races, but she stays this 480m trip well too and has made all the running on more than one occasion. It will be a surprise if she doesn't make the first turn in front.
