FARLOE MOBY (Trap 5) - Newcastle 14:36

This A6 contest provides a typical conundrum for punters in the lower end of the grading spectrum given there are four runners with a combined six British starts paired against a couple of more-established types in Traps 5 and 6. Gypsy Nipper in the black jacket has already won in this grade and is capable of better, but the percentage call is definitely FARLOE MOBY. The selection has just the one win to his name from 16 starts, which on the face of it is off-putting, but he's regularly been plying his trade in better races than this and this strong runner over the 480m trip is fancied to run these down.

ALNWICK SKY (Trap 4) - 16:43 Newcastle

Having hit the ground running post-lockdown with three wins in June/July, ALNWICK SKY has found the going a little more difficult of late. Most of those assignments were in A2 company and she's been far form disgraced, finishing second twice. Having missed the break badly back in A5 class last week, Alnwick Sky kept on well for third, suggesting she remains in good nick, and while there's pace on her inside in this contest, she certainly doesn't have to lead up early to land this.

SUNFIRE SHELLY (Trap 2) - 19:26 Nottingham

The best bet on Nottingham's evening card looks to be SUNFIRE SHELLY in this A2 contest. The selection recorded an impressive TF rating when a length-winner in this grade on her penultimate start, and a line can be drawn through last week's run in B1 class as she missed the break trying 480m for the first time and suffered crowding on the short run to the first bend. She's back over 500m here and given this is just her seventh start, it's not a big stretch to think she could end up Open class.
