"...he can put his vast track knowledge to good use..."
Timeform on Swift Woof
ANYNAMEWILLDO (Trap 1, 18.51) showed ability in his qualifying trials earlier in the year and is really getting his act together now, bolting up in A2 company prior to an eye-catching second in a Newcastle open event after. A recent 480-metre trial round here was a slick one on the clock, especially given he came from behind to score, and with the return to the standard 4-bend trip a plus, he can turn handy behind Lostrigg Hughie (Trap 3) and assert his authority from the three-quarter point.
Acomb Winston (Trap 3) - 20:46 Sheffield
A cracking BGBF Dual Distance Final is the feature on Sheffield's card this evening and despite finding Sharpys Pluto (Trap 2) far too strong over 6 bends last week, ACOMB WINSTON (Trap 3, 20.46) is expected to be much better suited by the return to 500 metres and can come out on top. A smashing servant over 4 bends, it would come as no surprise to see him turn front rank from his draw in the white jacket and have enough to hold off the challengers, including another classy operator in the shape of Denmark (Trap 1).
The Sheffield Stadium 500m Standard takes place at 21.01 and local raider SWIFT WOOF (Trap 2) is fancied to come out on top. An easy winner in A1 company on his penultimate start, he again ran well despite a less-than-ideal passage when runner-up in the top heat 10 days ago. Getting handy from trap-rise at the very least rates a distinct possibility and if emerging out of the first 2 bends unscathed, he can put his vast track knowledge to good use.
