Last week's victory by Playbook over Goldies Linekar in a four-bend clash when the pair drew clear of their rivals that could prove to be the form line to follow.
Mark Wallis' winner return to bitches' company (20:38) offers her an solid chance of following up. Unlucky perhaps not to be chasing a five-timer after having to check at a vital moment when runner-up in a Maiden final last month a repeat of her consistency at traps rise should once again quickly see her in front. Last week's Golden Sprint finalist Seaglass Shadow naturally warrants respect dropped in class given her own ability to ping the boxes but faces a first start from trap six and is maybe not at her absolute peak right now. Something that cannot be said of the selection.
Unlucky not to get a clean run at his rival at the third bend last week Goldies Linkear nevertheless confirmed he is improving quickly and looks over priced to play a part in a puppy contest (20:21). Patrick Janssens charge will need to avoid Savana Towcester, now seeded rails, on his inside at traps rise while Ballymac Micko although out of luck in recent weeks remains an obvious threat if trapping to the best of his ability but the selection is worth an interest each-way following last week's performance.
Liz can do the biz
Newinn Liz paced up well from trap six before getting across in the heat of a maiden competition last week but may be even better suited to trap five in the final (20:53). The young July puppy, unbeaten in two starts to date, will need to tread carefully to avoid pacey Chilli You Guys drawn on her immediate inside but is learning fast and can deal with the issue.
I am however prepared to take on her half sister Newinn Cracker in a stayers contest (19:49). A winner just once in her last sixteen outings and on a losing run of eight over Romford's 575m trip she is opposable at the odds in a competitive heat with Goldies Symnsy closely matched with Ernie Gaskin's bitch an obvious alternative. Bubbly Buster, yet to find his form after a short layoff, could also be one for the layers over 400m (19:17) in a race which Signature Callum and Swift Sabbath should figure strongly although choosing between the pair is far from easy.
Schooldays learning fast
Even though he's more likely to be last than first at the line first time Schooldays earns the vote in the maiden stayers final (21:08). Mark Wallis' charge completed the final lap nearly seven lengths faster than kennelmate and fellow heat winner Yukan Bridge last week and while he will need plenty to go his way looks one to keep on side.
