Romford Greyhounds Tips: Who will win the one-off, three dog race?
That amazing dead heat - it couldn't happen again, could it?
"The one to back might just be Droopys Djokovic. He looks set to have an early-paced battle with Killishin Masai, but with just three runners going to traps might just have a clear run at it."
Killishin Masai, Droopys Djokovic and Ayamzagirl created headlines when the trio dead-heated at Romford. They re-oppose tonight, so who does The Lord fancy in the rematch?
So, will history repeat itself at Romford tonight? Will the three dogs who dead-heated last week do so again?
The odds must be a million-to-one, but don't be surprised if it's a close call again.
The key to the race, which will be screened live on Sky Sports News, could be the length of the hare. A short hare and the runners could bunch up, a long hare and a truer race may well ensue.
If that's the case, the earlybirds Killishin Masai and Droopys Djokovic might just dominate from the off, with Ayamzagirl struggling to go the pace.
Trouble is unlikely in just a three-runner affair, and as a betting medium it looks a perfect back-and-lay race. In-running could also break greyhound racing records given the strength of media interest.
It's not a race for the purists, perhaps, with one or two 'character' question marks against at least two-thirds of the field! But those tuning into Sky Sports News at 8.48 tonight could be in for a treat.
The dog to lay is Ayamzagirl. She doesn't win many races and when she does it's by the minimum of margin, so is always worth taking on.
The one to back might just be Droopys Djokovic. He looks set to have an early-paced battle with Killishin Masai, but with just three runners going to traps might just have a clear run at it.
Should he actually go on with it, the pace he showed at Hall Green at the turn of the year, and then again at Romford last week, means he could surprise them.
Once on the bunny, will he stop? Backers will be hoping not, layers will be hoping he does and brings both Killishin Masai and Ayamzagirl back into it.
It really is a will they, won't they sort of race. Ifs and buts aplenty, but great fun nevertheless.
Back Droopys Djokovic @ [3.25] in the 20:48 at Romford
