Steve takes a look at the highly competitive Top Englishman market where he fancies Lee Westwood and James Morrison could be the two to side with...
"I’m a massive fan of Luke Donald and Justin Rose is a credit to his nation already but I’d absolutely love to see Lee Westwood win a major. Nobody’s really expecting much from the man that took a two-shot lead into the final round two years ago so could he cause a shock with expectations so low?"
With the exception of Justin Rose, a trends pick here for Dave Tindall, and the red-hot Paul Casey, who finished third here in 2010, none of the many Englishman in this year's Open Championship are strongly fancied to lift the Claret Jug this year and that might just be a good thing.
Rose may tick the trends boxes but his finish in Scotland last weekend was poor and his Open record is far from great. Casey' enjoying a fine summer so far and he has to be respected but high expectations may take their toll and just like Rose, he has a potentially poor afternoon draw on Thursday so he just doesn't represent value in this market.
I'm not convinced Luke Donald has the length to contend this week and I think Ian Poulter has gone from being someone you could trust implicitly in-contention to someone to swerve but I'm in agreement with Mike Norman that Lee Westwood could be a dark horse, and I'm far from the only one to fancy Tommy Fleetwood to perform well.
Paul picks out another two Englishman for his magnificent Find Me a 100 Winner column here in Eddie Pepperell and Ross Fisher and they would both make for ideal candidates here too but the one I quite like at a big price is James Morrison...
The Open de España winner missed the cut last week, having contended at both the BMW International and the Open de France in the two weeks previous, and the weekend off may well have done him good. He starts very late on Thursday so the draw isn't ideal but few in the field have been in better shape so far this summer and he could go well at a price but the one I'll be cheering on is Mike's pick Lee...

Nobody's really expecting much from the man that took a two-shot lead into the final round two years ago so could he cause a shock with expectations so low? I for one sincerely hope so and with a favourable draw, he looks a reasonable play in this market at double a figure price.
