Odds: [26.0] Last five US Opens: 27/14/6/mc/48 A very obvious contender. Following Adam Scott's breakthrough at the Masters, Kuchar has strong claims to becoming the next new major winner. He's already won two big events this season, both impressively from the front, at the World Matchplay and last time out in the Memorial. At 32, he's around the age and stage of his career that most players hit the peak of their powers. The only negative is a surprisingly ordinary tournament record, which includes only one top-ten finish. There should be no doubt, however, that Kuchar's patient, accurate, economical style is well suited to the US Open test.
