After a blistering start to his punting week Dan Geraghty cooled off slightly yesterday but he still managed a tiny profit. Here's our man's four picks for the final day of the round-robin stage...
"Given the way he's mercilessly seen off Stephen Gallagher and Ben Martin, it's surprising to see Hunter Mahan available at odds against in his final group game with Matt Kuchar."
Adam Scott doesn't seem in a good place with his golf game. With the ban on anchored putters looming, the Australian has flitted back and forth between putters and is looking as shaky as he has for a long time on the greens; he's lost two games from two and for my money should be odds on to lose a third. Opponent Chris Kirk has played the better golf of the two this week and with a bit of luck, can make a playoff with victory here.
Rory McIlroy v Billy Horschel on Friday has become the huge match everyone hoped it would be, they have the group between them and it's a shame they can't both go through. Horschel says he's "amped up" for the match - a repeat of their 2007 Walker Cup clash - and expects both to bring their A game. I'm surprised their prices aren't closer together in what looks a very tight clash. At the prices I'll side with the American, expect a few fist pumps along the way.
Given the way he's mercilessly seen off Stephen Gallagher and Ben Martin, it's surprising to see Hunter Mahan available at odds against in his final group game with Matt Kuchar. Mahan won the title in 2012; Match Play is clearly a style of golf he enjoys.
Hideki Matsuyama has looked imperious thus far, closing out his Thursday match with Joost Luiten in wonderful style. However, his two wins may count for nothing if he is defeated by Kevin Na on Friday. Na, had four birdies and no bogeys on Thursday and with qualification still a very real possibility, will fancy his chances of upsetting the Japanese star.
Back Chris Kirk @ 2.111/10 (22:10)
Back Billy Horschel @ 2.77/4 (22:30)
Back Hunter Mahan @ 2.111/10 (18:50)
Back Kevin Na @ 2.35/4 (22:50)
