Waste Management Phoenix Open Tips: The best bets from the opening day three-balls

Phil was on the birdie trail last week and can go well again, according to Dan

Dan Geraghty was on the money last week with returns from all four Qatar Masters bets, can he follow up with a good week at the Phoenix Open?

"Given Mickelson is the all-time money leader at the Phoenix Open he looks a solid selection to improve on last week's comeback. I think Lefty's the man to beat his week and he can start by beating Rickie Fowler and Hunter Mahan on day one."

It could be worth siding with the verycapable outsider Seung-Yul Noh at a big price in his first day three-ball with favourite Ryan Moore and Zach Johnson. Moore withdrew last week after injuring his neck and shooting a second round 77 at the Humana Challenge while Johnson hasn't hit the top 10 in five attempts here.

Phil Mickelson drowned 26 birdies on his return to the PGA tour last week and although he racked up a damaging 11 bogeys his first start of 2015 can certainly be classed as very encouraging. Given Mickelson is the all-time money leader at the Phoenix Open he looks a solid selection to improve on last week's comeback. I think Lefty's the man to beat his week and he can start by beating Rickie Fowler and Hunter Mahan on day one.

While I often like to oppose winners at short prices next time out, I like the chances of Bill Haas outscoring Gary Woodland and Russell Henley on day one here. Haas surprised himself with last week's win having had an extended break over Christmas while recovering from a wrist injury; his experience saw him through last week and he can be expected to play well again with the cobwebs blown away.

Given it's the fourth time from four attempts that Hideki Matsuyama has failed to make the weekend at the Sony Open, his missed cut last time out can be easily forgiven. With that performance erased, his recent form, course form (fourth on debut last year) and three-ball price on day one look fantastic. Bubba Watson and Billy Horschel oppose.
