Justin Rose was hugely impressive in winning last week's US Open; however, it makes sense to oppose the Englishman in round one this week. A lot of Rose's time has been spent on the PR circuit, appearing on shows such as Letterman and Morning Joe and the new major champion will find his time is in demand for the foreseeable future. Keegan Bradley and Zach Johnson have similar profiles around here so I will side with the bigger-priced Johnson who brings more experience to the table.
Nicolas Colsaerts put up a fine showing for a long time last week on a course that might not have suited. The Punter suggests driving distance could be an advantage this week; Colsaerts will fancy his chances of emulating Bubba Watson and breaking his PGA Tour duck at the Travelers. Chez Reavie and Erik Compton oppose in round one.
Harris English finally broke his duck last time out and, unlike his playing partners Hunter Mahan and Rickie Fowler, had last week off (albeit reluctantly). American, English looks a huge price at [3.2] to come out on top at a course that promises to suit; he finished 68th on his first attempt here last year, but can leave that form well behind.
