Back Patrick Reed @ [2.3] (15:55)

Back Zach Johnson @ [3.1] (19:15)

Back Russell Henley @ [1.5] (19:35)

Back Brendon Todd @ [2.6] (19:15)

My outright pick Patrick Reed looks a wonderful price at [2.3] to outscore Sergio Garcia on the first day. Garcia was second here last year but his Firestone form before that was very ordinary; I'd question whether it's a course that suits the Spaniard. Reed was fourth on his debut here last year; the American is one good week with the putter away from setting the tour alight once more.

Zach Johnson's price to beat Jordan Spieth on day one looks too big at [3.1]. Yes, Johnson's lack of length from the tee puts him at a disadvantage this week, but the Open Champion is in wonderful form, has registered three top 10's here in the past and has much more course experience than Spieth, who failed to break 70 in all four rounds on his Firestone debut last year.

Last week I alluded to the fact Oliver Wilson has only broken 70 seven times in 62 rounds since his fantastic Alfred Dunhill victory; his first round exit at the hands of Peter Uihlein last week will have done nothing to improve his confidence and the Englishman looks out of his depth this week in Akron; back playing partner Russell Henley to outscore him on day one.

Purely at the prices I like Brendon Todd to beat Louis Oosthuizen on the first day. Oosthuizen has been in wonderful form at this years majors but has suffered from inconsistency throughout the year, hitting the top 25 in only seven of 14 PGA Tour events in 2015. Todd has been in good form himself, making the top 15 in each of his last three outings (including the Open Championship) and beat Oosthuizen on this track last year; he looks a big price to do the same on day one this week.
