Just 66 line up for a crack at the latest WGC event and the BB golf team recommend wagers on this trio to sit top of the pile after day one...

"Everything looks right for the Utah man this week and the 35/1 on offer for another fast start looks well worth taking advantage of."

Adam Baylis says: Back Tony Finau @ 35/1

We're back on poa annua this week which immediately brings Tony Finau into the equation, the Salt Lake City export ranks fourth overall for total strokes gained on the surface since 2014 and he's been in fine form so far this season. A T6 finish at the Farmers and T2 at the Genesis were built around fast starts on Thursday - shooting a 66 and 65 respectively - to take him to 6th overall for round one scoring average this year (67.88).

He comes into this fresh after a week off, which should be of major benefit given the gruelling conditions at the Honda and he was oozing positivity during interviews after his stellar finish at Riviera - as Dave Tindall highlights in his tournament preview. Everything looks right for the Utah man this week and the 35/1 on offer for another fast start looks well worth taking advantage of.

Mike Norman says: Back Phil Mickelson @ 30/1

Just a 66-man field to contend with this week, so tee times become almost irrelevant, and the Betfair Sportsbook are paying out six places in the First Round Leader market. So getting a pay-out should be one of our easiest tasks of the season then (he says tongue in cheek).

Lefty is my man trusted to take us to the pay-out counter after day one of this week's WGC event, and I never for one moment thought I'd be saying that about a man who hasn't won anywhere for going on five years. But Mickelson is talking extremely bullish about his game, and a confident Mickelson is one capable of winning any tournament in the world. His current form in recent high-quality PGA Tour events reads 6-2-5, marking him out as one of the most in-form players on Tour, and he has form at Chapultepec GC too, finishing in a tie for seventh in last year's event despite not being in anywhere near the form he is in now. What's more, Lefty co-led after the first round 12 months ago, so on a course that despite being tree-lined rewarded distance over accuracy in 2017, I'm more than happy to chance the popular American at 30/1 in this limited field.

Joe Dyer says: Back Tommy Fleetwood @ 25/1

Forgive me but I can't pass up the opportunity to back one of the planet's hottest golfers at a joint industry leading price on a course where he performed very well last year.

With six places to play for, Fleetwood looks an obvious play given his hot form - a win, fourth, sixth in three of his four tournament in the calendar year.

Factor in his runner-up finish in this last year and the 25/1 could well look very generous once the dust has settled on day one at Chapultepec.
