Find Me a 100 Winner: A trio of outsiders to back at Leopard Creek

Golfer Ernie Els
Could Ernie Els roll back the years?

Paul Krishnamurty offers his best three bets available to back at 99-1 or better for this week's Alfred Dunhill Championship...

"Ernie is playing his best golf in years and...is still competitive at this level. 15th place last week was respectable and his seventh straight cut - most of which were on the PGA Tour."

Course specialist Drysdale should love the changes

A perennial headache faced by golf punters is how much store to place in players withdrawing from an event, as David Drysdale did from last week's South African Open. The fact he tees up again immediately means it can't have been due to a serious injury and, in that case, this course specialist becomes a must-bet at big odds.

Drysdale loves it at Leopard Creek, finishing top-30 on seven of his last nine visits, including top-11 in three of the last four. Plus one would think the faster conditions and course changes described in Steve Rawlings' tournament preview would play more to his advantage, by placing a greater emphasis on accuracy. He's not without recent form either - finishing fifth at the Hong Kong Open last month.

Ernie is on a mini-comeback trail

Similarly I think the course changes could offer advantage to an ultra-experienced regular like Els. Ernie is playing his best golf in years and, whilst obviously not the same force as when a regular leaderboard fixture here in the past, he is still competitive at this level.

15th place last week was respectable and his seventh straight cut - most of which were on the PGA Tour. Notably, he ranked top-six for greens in regulation for the second straight event. Hitting lots of greens and scrambling well - and Ernie always was a magician around the greens - could be the most important stats to follow this week.

Promising Vincent well worth another chance

Back Scott Vincent 2u @ 280.0279/1
Place order to lay 10u @ 25.024/1
Place order to lay 20u @ 10.09/1

Finally these odds really stand out as an over-reaction. Vincent missed last week's cut but it was entirely forgiveable, considering his extensive schedule and travelling beforehand. The Zimbabwean remains a good prospect and one to follow closely at this level.

Vincent was fourth in last year's South African Open and 13th in the Tshwane Open, so has form in co-sanctioned events of this stature in this country. His combination of long driving and superb gir stats have, historically, been just the ticket at Leopard Creek.
