Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano obliges our golf columnist in his weekly bid to hit a three-figure winner.

It took a little over 40 goes but our golf tipster Paul Krishnamurty has finally found us a three-figure winner in his weekly long-shot tipping challenge when Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano landed the British Masters this weekend.

In his Tuesday column, Paul highlighted the Spaniard's chances at odds of [150.0] and the bet came in after a play-off at The Belfry.

In his weekly column Paul said: "Castano's excellent recent stats for putting and par-5 performance also point to a prosperous week at The Belfry, a course where he made the top-15 in 2006."

Lee Westwood
was the beaten opponent in the play-off. The Englishman was matched at odds of [1.09] after taking a lead throughout the final afternoon.

Fernandez-Castano was matched at a higher price during in-play betting on the tournament with one lucky punter getting £2 at [310.0].

Paul will be continuing the column throughout the rest of the golf season and into 2009 ... unless we can come up with a more fiendish challenge of course!
