The Spaniard has not won a tournament for 18 months with his last success coming in 2005, when he won two events - the Booz Allen Classic and the European Masters.

The Ryder Cup star though showed signs of a return to form in last week's WGC event in Florida, when Garcia finished tied for third along with Australian pair Robert Allenby and Geoff Ogilvy.

Garcia, still looking for his first major title, is keen to follow in the footsteps of fellow countrymen Seve Ballesteros and Jose Maria Olazabal and claim the Green Jacket.

The 27-year-old said: "I guess at the end of the day the only thing I can do is try to do my best.

"I've just got to keep doing the right things and keep believing in myself and just keep giving myself chances."

Garcia can be backed at 38 to win the US Masters, while in-form Tiger Woods is the 2.58 favourite. Defending champion Phil Mickelson has come in for support at 10, while Olazabal is available at 85.

Paul Casey is the pick of the Englishmen at 50, while Henrik Stenson is the leading European on 36.
