Veteran holds on for victory
Mark Calcavecchia claimed his first PGA Tour title in two years as he held on for a one-shot victory at the Pods Championship in Florida.
The former Open champion shared the lead with fellow American Heath Slocum going into the final round in Tampa Bay, but his final round 70 was enough to see him claim his 13th career title.
The 46-year-old, who has been enduring a torrid time on the greens so far this year, bought a putter in a local sports shop before his second round and then went on to pick up the $954,000 winner's cheque.
Calcavecchia is now expected to take his place in the field for this week's Arnold Palmer Invitational in Orlando, an event which signals the return of Tiger Woods.
Punters who think Calcavecchia's return to form will continue, can back the veteran at 5.2 to finish in the top 5 at Bay Hill.
The Pods Championship winner is available at 90 to secure back-to-back victories this week, in a market headed by world number one Woods at 3.4.
