Luke Donald hopes for European success

Luke Donald feels it won't be long until a European wins a Major and ends an eight-year run without a victory.
Paul Lawrie was the last player from the continent to claim one of the four Majors, when he won the Open Championship at Carnoustie in 1999.
Ironically it was in 1999 that Europe's last win at Augusta was recorded, when Spain's Jose Maria Olazabal claimed his second green jacket - but the challenge appears to be getting stronger with this year's field seeing the biggest ever representation of British players.
As the field prepare for the 71st Masters, Donald feels a European win is close and that a once one wins, then others will follow.
Donald insisted: "It's only a matter of time before one of us (Europeans) breaks through - hopefully it will be me.
"It's a belief thing. We definitely have the talent. When one of us does it, it should open the floodgates."
The 29-year-old is trading at 75 to win his first Major this week, while Donald is available at 12.5 to finish as top European - a market headed by Sergio Garcia (7).
Betfair punters who feel this week could bring to an end to Europe's baron run, will be attracted by the 'Winning Nationality' market.
USA is, not surprisingly, the 1.65 favourite while England is available to back at 8.6, Republic of Ireland is trading at 11.5, Spain and Sweden at 14.5 and Scotland at 28.
