Sweden legend and Betfair Ambassador Henrik Larsson looks ahead to his country's huge quarter-final clash with England and has found reasons to believe they can progress to the last four...
"Looking at England, I don’t think they've been terribly good at building up from the back. If Swede are able to disrupt and frustrate them early on, we can manage to get possession and make it difficult for them via counters."
It has been a massively entertaining tournament so far. It still looks wide open and a number of teams still have a chance to go all the way while plenty of big nations have exited early.
If the Swedes can build on the success that have got them this far, they have a solid chance of beating England on Saturday. There is no need for any major changes with the line-up or the tactical approach in my opinion. If they continue to play to their strengths, with the cornerstones of their defence, I believe they can overcome Gareth Southgate's side.
Looking at England, I don't think they've been terribly good at building up from the back. If Swede are able to disrupt and frustrate them early on, we can manage to get possession and make it difficult for them via counters. I am going for a 2-1 Sweden win.
One player to watch out for, of course, is Harry Kane who has been putting the ball in the net over a long period of time now, and done it very well.
As a fellow centre forward, I can't help but be impressed with his ability to play not only in the box but also outside of it. He is extremely sharp and solid in the penalty area, both on the ground and in the air.
France v Uruguay
A battle I’m looking forward to with a hard-pressing Uruguay against a fast-paced France team that enjoy keeping possession, particularly in the opponent’s half. Kylian Mbappé showed up against Argentina and can cause real havoc for the Uruguayans. The French look really sharp.
Brazil v Belgium
In spite of Belgium’s golden generation and superstars, I want Brazil to advance. Brazil have always been my favourite team, considering Sweden’s lack of success on the World Cup stage in my youth. I believe in the Brazilians for this one.
Russia v Croatia
The winner of Sweden v England will face the victor here. I have a good feeling Croatia win it as they have thoroughly impressed during the course of the tournament. The Russians displayed a solid effort against Spain but surely will not have the energy to withstand the Croatians with all the miles in their bodies.
Henrik says: Back Sweden to beat England 2-1 at [21.0].
