Kepa's a keeper
After looking at Jack Butland and Jordan Pickford, it seems that Chelsea have gone for the overseas option to replace Thibault Courtois. Athletic Bilbao's Kepa Arrizabalaga is said to have paid his release caluse of £71m and is now free to sign for the West London club. Courtois' deal to Spanish giants Real Madrid now looking imminent at 1/18.
Elsewhere at The Blues', as reported yesterday, Mateo Kovacic's loan is close to being finalised as he is scheduled for a medical today.
Nabil Fekir's is also still in the club's sights, as Lyon's manager admits that he could still leave. He's 1/2 to stay in France but the Blues' are still sticking around at 7/4 for his signature.
Burnley's transfers are like buses
Up until a couple of days ago, Burnley had not made any signings. Now they've made three. The latest being former-Derby County striker and winner of the Championship Golden Boot Matej Vydra to strengthen up top. This comes after adding goalkeeper Joe Hart and midfielder Ben Gibson to their ranks.
Manchester United no closer
Manchester United are no closer to signing any of their transfer targets. Harry Maguire has drifted out to 2/1, Yerry Mina is off due to a disagreement over agent fees, and whilst Toby Alderweireld is still 4/9 to join The Red Devils, apparently no bid has been made. 6/4 to stay at Tottenham is looking plausible.
This is despite rumours Maguire still wanting a move to Manchester. The next 24 hours will tormenting for United fans, don't forget there's still some uncertainty over Paul Pogba.
Pogba has several reports hanging over his head but the odds for him leaving for Barcelona have drifted slightly to 11/4 with him to stay at Old Trafford 1/4. United are stubborn to sell for several reasons, mainly because there's no obvious replacement for someone of Pogba's calibre this late in the window.
Neither are Tottenham
Reports are coming out that Spurs have finally made a £25m bid for Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish, only for their owners to turn their nose up at the bid and to say he won't be sold during this transfer window. This news has seen the market for Grealish currently suspended.
Aston Villa say Tottenham target Jack Grealish WILL NOT be leaving the club this summer. Tottenham fans - your club has yet to make a signing, who do you think they need to bring in before the deadline? #ssn? Sky Sports News (@SkySportsNews) August 8, 2018
Wolves still out in force
Wolverhampton are still adding to their team ready for the new season, this time adding Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore for £18m in what would be their fourth addition to the squad. Their transfer business has already raised the expectectations of what they might achieve this season, as put perfectly by Ben McAleer.
