Inter will end weekend top
Juventus can at least temporarily go top of Serie A with a win against Cagliari on Saturday.
The Old Lady trail the leaders Inter, who play on Sunday, by two points. Their rise has been built on an excellent defensive record. Juve are now unbeaten in six league games (W5 D1) and during that run they have not conceded a single goal.
This should be a major test for Cagliari then, whose form has improved amidst a flurry of goals. They are unbeaten in three games (W2 D1), that have seen a total of 14 goals. We have to assume that Juventus' defensive strength will win out though and you can back a home win with under 3.5 goals at 1/12.00.
Eighth placed Fiorentina host Bologna in sixth place. The visitors have not lost since being defeated by AC Milan on the opening day of the season (P10 W4 D6). Thiago Motta's side have not been facing weak opponents either, drawing away at both Juventus and Inter, before last weekend beating Lazio 1-0.
In contrast, Fiorentina's Serie A form has fallen to pieces, with the Viola having lost each of their last three games without scoring. Given the sides' respective form, it doesn't make sense to find that the hosts are odds-on favourites. Combine Bologna double chance with under 3.5 goals at 6/52.20.
The highlight of the Serie A schedule this weekend is the Derby della Capitale between Lazio and Roma.
It is seventh placed Roma that have made the slightly stronger start to the season, having earned one point more than Lazio in 10th. Roma's erratic form continued with a 2-0 Europa League defeat to Slavia Prague on Thursday, but they have shown some consistency in Serie A of late, winning four of their last five games (L1).
Lazio beat Feyenoord 1-0 in the Champions League to extend their unbeaten home run to six matches (W4 D2), with their away record having letting them down this season (P8 W3 D0 L5). It's a surprise then to see Roma favoured in this one. Go for Lazio double chance and under 2.5 goals at 23/20.
The Serie A leaders are in action on Sunday night at home to Frosinone.
Like Lazio, the visitors are another side that are reliable at home but struggle on the road. They are now unbeaten in their last five games at the Stadio Benito Stirpe W4 D1), while they have yet to win an away league match (P5 D2 L3).
Inter will surely inflict another defeat, but you can add some value with the likelihood of Frosinone scoring, which is something that they have done in eleven of their 13 games this season. Back Inter to be ahead at half-time, both teams to score and Lautaro Martinez to score at 7/24.50.
