The hectic schedule that is the Premier League Christmas fixtures is about to start. Henrik Larsson discusses the round ahead of Christmas with top games like Arsenal facing Liverpool and Leicester playing Manchester United...
"With one of the most creative players in football back, in Paul Pogba, United have shored up their midfield. He is the one player that is able to find unexpected solutions when tricky situations arise."
Premier League's most intense phase is upon us, to the joy and excitement of football fans everywhere. This includes a multitude of intriguing games like Arsenal v Liverpool for instance.
Despite both teams having relatively good form, Liverpool currently feels stronger than Arsenal. Their team both looks and feels much more free in their playing style and have a better flow than the somewhat toothless Arsenal. Liverpool look like the stronger team both in the box and readjusting from defence to attack.
There is no denying that Liverpool, at times, have had a shaky defence and difficulties defending set pieces. They're also the away team against an Arsenal that, however, haven't been without their own faults this season. The game will probably sway back and forth a lot with a number of chances, which usually works to Liverpool's advantage.
Leicester play Manchester United in this weekend's Premier League round. With incredibly-skilled players like Riyad Mahrez, Jamie Vardy and Shinji Okazaki, Leicester are a constant danger. However, I believe Jose Mourinho will have his men playing with a relatively low back line and the question then becomes who he chooses to start considering the heavy upcoming schedule. In spite of all this, my belief is that Manchester United are the worthy favourites in this contest.
With one of the most creative players in football back, in Paul Pogba, United have shored up their midfield. He is the one player that is able to find unexpected solutions when tricky situations arise. Though I do feel that the team overall has been lacking in the creativity department.
