Manchester United are odds-on to leave Cardiff clutching all three Premier League points, but the home side have already shown they're able to mix it with the big boys and the Value Hunter - fresh from a successful tip on Sunderland at 9.417/2 - is opposing another big name in the top-flight again
"Cardiff are pretty damned good when playing in front of the home support at their Welsh fortress."
Cardiff have already pulled off one of the season's finest results with August's 3-2 defeat of Manchester City and last time we saw them at home they were taking care of Welsh rivals, Swansea, in fine fashion.
In between times the Bluebirds have held Everton to a goalless draw and came within seconds of doing the same to Spurs, conceding at the very death to a Paulinho backheel. A 2-1 defeat to Newcastle does not look so bad in light of the Toon's wins over Chelsea and Tottenham.
In short, Cardiff are pretty damned good when playing in front of the home support at their Welsh fortress.
And they will have to be in the late Sunday kick-off - their visitors are the reigning Premier League champions.
After a wobbly start to the campaign, Manchester United are looking in good form and seemingly ready to put up a genuine defence of their crown.
While three consecutive Premier League wins, including a defeat of Arsenal last time out, reads well - a visit to Fulham or hosting Norwich are not the stiffest tests in the top-flight. Before that run, United were drawing at home to Saints, going behind at Sunderland and losing to West Brom. They are without some important personnel, too. Michael Carrick is definitely out, Phil Jones looks a likely absentee and Robin van Persie is a slight doubt.
The home team's only significant absentee is Peter Odemwingie but, happily, joint top-scorer Steven Caulker is fit and the former Spurs defender will be key at both ends. Watch for the England man from set piece situations.
Manchester City were successfully opposed teams in our last Premier League outing and I'm not convinced that a win for the red half of the city is a sure thing so Cardiff City are the Value Hunter's play this weekend at 6.05/1.
