The Goalscorer Gamble: Bony gem to blow Birmingham away

Will Wilfried Bony continue his fine scoring run when Swansea face Birmingham?
Will Wilfried Bony continue his fine scoring run when Swansea face Birmingham?

A triumphant Dan Fitch returns with five more goalscorer tips and is backing Swansea's Wilfried Bony to punish Birmingham.

"Rakitic's Sevilla side are in fine form, having lost only once in their last 13 matches and should have goals in them at home to Levante."

Back Rakitic to score the last goal at likely odds of 8.07/1.

If you could see me now as I write this, you would notice that my hat is sitting quite deliberately on the side of my head to illustrate just how happy I am.

The reason? A highly successful set of results for last weekend's Goalscorer Gamble of course. Three of my five predictions came in, with Daniel Sturridge kicking things off with his goal at 1.9720/21, before Jose Callejon added to the fun at odds of 3.002/1, setting things up for Manchester United's Javier Hernadez to score the last goal against Chelsea at a gigantic 13.0012/1.

Had you backed these selections with a £10 treble, then like me you would now be sitting high upon a pile consisting of 768 pound notes. If you didn't, but want to be able to sit in your very own money chair, then feast your eyes upon this week's tips.

We start with the FA Cup fourth round. In the last lot of fixtures I tipped Jay Rodriguez to score for Southampton and I like his chances of adding to his FA Cup tally in their home game against Yeovil.

Rodriguez has scored eight goals from his last 12 games and looks like good value at a likely price of 2.26/5 to score against a Yeovil side that are currently in the Championship relegation zone.

Another struggling Championship outfit taking on Premier League opposition are Birmingham. They play host to a Swansea side that are finding life tough at the moment, but can boast a striker in top form.

Wilfried Bony has hit an impressive 14 goals this season, with the last four coming in as many games. The Ivorian hits the ball harder than Hot Shot Hamish (Google it kids) and is my tip at likely odds of 5.59/2 to score the first goal.

Next up is a short hop across the Channel to the south of France, for Monaco's match against Marseille. The home side have this week suffered a lengthy injury to Radamel Falcao, who will not only miss the rest of the season but also the World Cup. Considering that he will be 43 years old by the time of the next tournament, that must come as a real blow.

Falcao might be missed by Colombia more than he is by Monaco, where he has only scored nine league goals this season. Just behind him on eight goals is Emmanuel Riviere and I fancy the youngster to step up to the plate in Falcao's absence.

Riviere faces a Marseille defence that have not kept a clean sheet in the league for five games and conceded five at home this week in a cup defeat to Nice. Back Riviere to add to their woes at a likely price of 2.47/5.

Over to Spain now for Sevilla's match with Levante where we're interested in a player that is developing into a reliable goalscoring midfielder. Sevilla's Ivan Rakitic was never a particularly prolific scorer, until last season he hit double figures for only the second time in his career.

This season he has moved up a gear and currently boasts 11 goals in 25 games. His Sevilla side are in fine form, having lost only once in their last 13 matches and should have goals in them at home to Levante. I'm tipping Rakitic to score the last goal at likely odds of 8.07/1.

Finally we hop to Italy for Lazio's clash with Juventus. The visitors are in sensational form, winning their last 12 league games and it's another goalscoring midfielder that is driving them forward to achieve such excellence.

There are few midfielders playing better than Arturo Vidal this season. He's scored ten league goals and four from his last four games.

That puts him just one goal behind Juve's top scorer Carlos Tevez, but thanks to the presence of the Argentine and Fernando Llorente, you'll find Vidal available out at around 3.55/2. Snap up that bargain.
