The Big Wednesday Multiple: Goals in Donetsk

Will this man be plying his trade in the Premier League next year?

After just missing out with three from four last week, it' time again for the big Wednesday multiple as Paul Robinson selects a home win, an away win, a match to go over 2.5 goals and a match to go under 2.5 goals. Here are his selections:

"Back Boca Juniors @ 1.36 (4/11);

Back Fluminense @ 1.7 (7/10);

Back Over 2.5 Goals in Shakhtar v Dortmund @ 1.75 (3/4);

Back Under 2.5 Goals in Real Garcilaso v Santa Fe @ 1.55 (11/20);

The Multiple pays approximately 6.29 (5/1)"

Bet 1: Boca Juniors (HOME) @ 1.36 (4/11)  - ESPN and Betfair Live Video @ 23:59

We kick off the multiple in Argentina as Boca Juniors and Toluca get their Copa Libertadores campaign underway. The Argentine side are quite short here but they are a much more accomplished outfit than their Mexican counterparts and it should be a comfortable home win.

Boca Juniors were the beaten finalists in this competition last year, losing the final 3-1 on aggregate to Corinthians. Victory would have seen them pick up their seventh Libertadores title, their first since 2007, but it wasn't to  be.

Carlos Bianchi's team warmed up for this match with a 3-2 comeback victory over Quilmes on Saturday and scored the winner even after being reduced to 10 men. That was their fourth win in five on home soil and they seem to be getting back to the form that saw them rack up six straight victories at Estadio Alberto J. Armando in this tournament in 2012.

Toulca are back in the Libertadores for the first time since 2007, when they were knocked out in the third round. They have started their domestic campaign very poorly and having lost their last three straight matches they are 15th in the table with just five points.

Enrique Meza has seen his side win only five of their last 15 on the road, losing six and drawing the other four. To put it bluntly they just aren't good enough to mix it with Boca, especially in Argentina, and it will be a huge surprise if they take anything from this game.

Bet 2: Fluminense (AWAY) @ 1.7 (7/10) - Betfair Live Video @ 23:59

We stay in the Libertadores for our away victory as the Brazilian champions travel to Venezuela for their opening match with Caracas.

Fluminense were actually one of Boca Juniors victims in this last year as they lost to them 2-1 on aggregate in the quarter-finals. That disappointment didn't stop them from storming to the Serie A title though and they had that wrapped up with a couple of weeks to spare.

More recently they are undefeated after six games in the Carioca One and sit second in Group B, four points behind Flamengo in top spot. Their form on the road is impressive, winning 18 of their last 29 away matches in all competitions, suffering just three defeats.

Caracas are Copa Libertadores regulars and they even made it to the quarter-finals back in 2009. They've not done much since then though and last year they exited in the first round after being stuffed by Peñarol. Their recent home record in the tournament is poor as well - one win in seven and four defeats - and they have won just one of their last five competitive games.

This should be similar to the Boca match as Fluminense will likely have too much class for their opponents and come back to Brazil with a win under their belts.

Bet 3: Shakhtar v Dortmund (Over 2.5 goals) @ 1.75 (3/4) - Sky Sports 4 @ 19:45

Our goal fest of the week will hopefully come in Donetsk as Shakhtar entertain Dortmund in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 clash. Normally I'm wary about backing goals in the first game of a two legged tie but both of the UCL matches went over 2.5 last night and the stats for these two sides point towards plenty of action as well.

Shakhtar qualified from the group phase at the expense of Chelsea and they looked like real contenders, especially in the matches against the defending champions. There are two issues that have happened since though; firstly they haven't played a competitive match since the 0-1 loss to Juventus back in December and they have lost star player Willian to big spending Anzhi.

The Ukranians still have plenty of fire power though as Luiz Adriano is an accomplished striker and the creative forces of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alex Teixeira chip in with more than their fair share of goals. Three of their six group games went over 2.5 goals and at the Dombass Arena, 11 of their last 16 have followed suit.

Dortmund were perhaps the most impressive team in the group phase as they triumphed in the group of death ahead of Real Madrid, Ajax and Manchester City. In their three away matches they netted a total of seven goals and although they didn't keep a clean sheet, they were undefeated.

Away from Westfalenstadion, Jürgen Klopp's men have seen 12 of their 17 competitive games have three goals or more this term, failing to score on only one occasion while keeping just the three clean sheets themselves.

Bet 4: Real Garcilaso v Santa Fe (Under 2.5 goals) @ 1.55 (11/20) - Betfair Live Video @ 02:15

We finish back in the Copa Libertadores as Real Garcilaso take on Santa Fe in what looks to be one for the purists.

Real Garcilaso are a Peruvian side who are making their debut in this tournament so it's not so easy to gauge how they will fare. They only made it to the top flight of domestic football last year and they went all the way to the final stage, losing out 2-0 on aggregate to Sporting Cristal.

Freddy García's side have begun this season with a 4-0 victory over Sport Huancayo but they finished last term with five out of six games going under 2.5 goals. They are a very solid side at home, winning 26 of their last 29 fixtures, suffering just the single loss. Of those 26 victories, 19 were to nil and they only conceded two or more on two occasions.

Santa Fe are a Colombian club who are making their first appearance in this competition since 2006. They are the reigning Colombian champions and have started their title defence with a win and a draw.

As far as the goals go, five of their last nine have gone under 2.5 and they have failed to score in six of their last dozen matches away from Estadio El Campín.

This is a big match for these two clubs and I can see it being quite cagey as they look to avoid losing in their opening game. Under 2.5 goals is short at 1.55 (11/20) but I still think it represents value.
