Andrew Hughes thinks Liverpool will beat Manchester City on Sunday and help to land another weekend multiple in the process
“Liverpool were the only team who had Manchester City’s measure last season and the Reds look good value to strike an early blow in the title race on Sunday.”
Liverpool were the only team who had Manchester City's measure last season and the Reds look good value to strike an early blow in the title race on Sunday.
With both sides pressing energetically and overloaded with talent, this promises to be another end-to-end thriller, and while the possible return of Kevin De Bruyne would be a bonus for City, Liverpool appear to have moved up a level this season.
The key to this match could be Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian star has made a slow start to the campaign, but as Alex Keble points out in his must-read Tactical Preview, with Benjamin Mendy unfit, City have a weakness at left-back, which Salah should be able to exploit. Back Liverpool to get the three points and top the table.
Sunday's clash at Sixways may not be the classiest rugby fixture this weekend, but it should be a hard-fought encounter between two sides desperate for a win.
Worcester have won one of their last six Premiership games, while Bristol have won one out of four, and with a long relegation battle ahead of both of them, points won or lost in these head to head games could prove crucial.
The last time they met at this venue, Worcester prevailed 41-24 but this fixture has tended to be a lot closer than that. There isn't much between them on current form, but Bristol have shown plenty of spirit on their return to the top flight, so could offer a touch of value against the struggling Warriors.
Philadelphia Eagles haven't made a great start to their NFL campaign, but they have shown glimpses of the form that took them to the Superbowl last season and they should prove too strong for the out-of-sorts Vikings.
As Neil Monnery underlines in his comprehensive preview of the weekend's NFL action, Minnesota have won just one out of four so far, and have been well beaten by both the Rams and the Bills, with their usually-reliable defence struggling.
For the Eagles, Carson Wentz isn't back to his best yet, but he is improving, and he should be able to pick apart the Vikings on Sunday.
