Andrew Hughes is backing Chelsea to come out on top at St James' Park and help to land another weekend multiple in the process

“Four defeats in a row, with just one goal scored in that time, suggests the Newcastle players are already deep into their holiday packing, and Rafa Benitez is unlikely to be able to rouse them to a new pitch of intensity for this final game.”

Bet 1: Back Chelsea to beat Newcastle at [1.65]

The midweek draw with Huddersfield significantly reduced Chelsea's chances of cracking the top four this season, but they should at least end the season with a victory at St James' Park this weekend.

Four defeats in a row, with just one goal scored in that time, suggests the Newcastle players are already deep into their holiday packing, and Rafa Benitez is unlikely to be able to rouse them to a new pitch of intensity for this final game.

By contrast, Chelsea are desperate to finish strongly, and as Alex Keble points out in his fascinating Tactical Preview, the Magpies' set-up is likely to leave them vulnerable to the visitors' width. Back the visitors to grab the three points.

Bet 2: Back Mumbai to beat Rajasthan at [1.63]

The most successful team in IPL history are once again timing their challenge to perfection, as Ed Hawkins outlines in his fascinating IPL article.

Mumbai lost five of their first six but since rethinking their line-up, have begun to haul themselves into contention. Swapping out Keiron Pollard and Mustafizur Rahman appears to have been the catalyst, and with an in-form batting order and variety with the ball, they look the best balanced team in the tournament.

Rajasthan are also improving, but from a much lower base. Moving Jos Buttler up the order has helped the Royals to be more competitive, but they are no match for the Indians in either department. Back Mumbai for the win.

Bet 3: Back Cronulla Sharks to beat Canberra Raiders at [2.3]

Two in-form sides go head to head on Sunday, and this should be a cracking encounter. The Sharks are up to eighth after three straight wins, while the Raiders have recovered from a poor start to win four out of five.

The Sharks are missing some key players and are likely to be without Wade Graham for this one after he tweaked his hamstring again, but they've coped well in recent games, thanks to the likes of Matt Moylan and Andrew Fifta stepping up.

Fifta in particular has been immense and he is likely to play a major role in taking the fight to a powerful Raiders forward line. This one is likely to be close, but the Sharks have a good record at the GIO Stadium, winning their last five and at the current odds, they are the value selection.
