It's Portuguese Primeira Liga action for Paul Robinson this evening as he thinks that Boavista's trip to Setubal will result in at least three goals being scored.
"As far as the goals go, Armando Gonçalves Teixeira’s side have also scored eight times this year, but they have an even worse defensive record with 25 conceded in total."
Setubal v Boavista
Friday December 12, 20:30 GMT
Vitoria Setubal are having a torrid time of things lately as four defeats in five in the league have dropped them to 13th place and they've also been knocked out of the Taca de Portugal by Estoril. Tonight represents a decent opportunity to get back to winning ways but they must improve on recent showings.
It's the goal-side of things we're focusing on here though and with eight scored and 20 conceded, their matches this term are averaging 2.33 goals each time. Obviously the eight in the 'For' column is a tad disconcerting for this particular selection, but Domingos Paciência's side won't get much of a better opportunity to bang in a few goals, while their defence will likely remain vulnerable.
Boavista have held their own since their promotion back to the top flight but two straight defeats will have the natives a touch restless. It's been a long road back for the club who were dining at Europe's top table in the early 2000's but they are at least in the right division again.
As far as the goals go, Armando Gonçalves Teixeira's side have also scored eight times this year, but they have an even worse defensive record with 25 conceded in total. That gives their fixtures an average of 2.75 goals each time, with two thirds rewarding under 2.5 layers.
This could be the night where both teams find their scoring touch, so with under 2.5 goals trading at around the 1.674/6 mark, I have to make it my lay of the day.
