Zinedine Zidane is finally getting respect for his work with Real Madrid

We're staying in Spain tonight, and Kev's treating us with a visit to the European champions...

"Sevilla aren't as strong away from home as they are at the Sanchez Pizjuan, and their recent record at the Bernabeu is truly terrible."

A Canaries catastrophe for us last night, as Las Palmas lost 2-0 at home to Atletico Madrid to suffer their first home defeat of the season.

We're staying in Spain, and sticking with the Copa del Rey for a glamour tie between Real Madrid and Sevilla, two of Spain's current top three.

Real Madrid are yet to suffer a single defeat in any competition this season, they have won the European Super Cup and the Club World Cup, and their record-breaking unbeaten run stands at 37 matches. Coach Zinedine Zidane is finally getting the respect he deserves, and even his most ardent doubters have to concede that such an impressive sequence of results requires more than luck.

Sevilla also have a fine coach at the helm, with Jorge Sampaoli impressing in his first campaign. The Argentinian had great success with Chile at international level, and his all-action, attacking style is yielding results in La Liga.

However, there is a marked difference between Sevilla's performances at the Sanchez Pizjuan, and their displays on the road. At home, they have only lost to Barcelona and Juventus, and have won the rest of their home games.

However, on their travels Sevilla's record is more patchy. They lost 3-2 to Real Madrid in the European Super Cup, and were swept aside 3-0 at Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup. They have also suffered defeats at Granada and Athletic Club.

Although Real are without the injured Gareth Bale and the rested Cristiano Ronaldo, they are still capable of fielding an excellent side for this game, and their home record is formidable. They haven't lost at the Bernabeu for nearly a year, and they have won their last nine home games against tonight's opponents.

Sevilla are a great team to watch, with exciting players and a clever coach, but their record at Real Madrid is awful, and I expect the La Liga table-toppers to take a first-leg lead here.
