We're heading to France tonight, and Kevin Hatchard's backing one of the title favourites in Ligue 2.
"Metz have tended to dominate their home games against weaker opposition, and Beziers are in awful form."
Metz to get promotion push back on track
Metz v Beziers
Monday 18 February, 19:45
It was indeed party time in Poland for our chum Tobias, as his Over 2.5 Goals bet from the Ekstraklasa landed. We'll leave him clutching a Warka (that's a beer, not a woodland creature), and head to France. Ligue 2 leaders Metz have been having a bit of a wobble of late, but I think they can return to dominant form at home to a Beziers side that is sliding towards relegation.
Metz can go three points clear at the top of the table tonight, and their recent 3-1 cup win at top-flight side Monaco was a reminder of their quality. As often happens in promotion races, Metz have had a little wobble, with just one win in the last five league matches. However, they have still won seven of their 11 home matches in Ligue 2, and of the four teams they have dropped points against at the Stade Saint-Symphorien, three of them are in the top eight. When they host the strugglers, they tend to dominate.
The main driver behind backing a comfortable Metz win tonight is Beziers' awful form. They have dropped into the relegation playoff spot after a run of ten league games without a win. ASB have failed to score in six of those matches, and they have lost their last four away matches, scoring just one goal in the process.
Metz are trading at a hefty [2.43] to win by two goals or more on the Asian Handicap, and six of their seven home wins have been by more than one goal. It's also worth remembering that Metz won the reverse fixture 3-1.
Points Staked: 21
Points Returned: 13.97
P/L: -7.03 points
Back Metz -1.5 on the Asian Handicap at [2.43]
