It's Friday night in Argentina for Paul Robinson as he thinks that Newells can take something from their trip to Lanus.

The hosts are riding high at the top of Group B in the Argentinian Primera Division following four wins and a draw from their opening five matches.

There is no doubting that that is an impressive performance from Jorge Almirón's side but they haven't faced too many great teams and their winning run came to an end last time out with a 2-2 draw at San Martin San Juan.

Things haven't been as good for opponents, Newell's Old Boys, but they have shown plenty of promise at times. The undoubted highlight was the 5-0 thrashing of Racing Club in February but they then followed that up with a 4-1 defeat at Boca Juniors.

The visitors can be very hit or miss and they have been for a couple of seasons now. They still have some good players at their disposal though, including Maxi Rodriguez, who is still knocking in plenty of goals at the grand old age of 35.

I have a soft spot for Newells and I truly believe they can get something against the leaders tonight. Which is why, with Lanus trading at around the 1.991/1 mark, I have to make them my lay of the day.
