Goals usually follow Independiente around and Paul Robinson thinks that trend will follow tonight when they take on Newell's Old Boys in the Argentinian Primera Division.
"Jorge Almirón’s side have been very strong in the attacking areas as with 30 scored, no other team in the division have bettered them."
Independiente v Newell's Old Boys
Sunday November 30, 00:30 GMT
It's been a good campaign for Independiente as after spending last year in the second tier, they are up in fourth place with just two games to go. They may have only won one of their last four, but no matter what happens, the season must be classed as a success.
Jorge Almirón's side have been very strong in the attacking areas as with 30 scored, no other team in the division have bettered them. Federico Mancuello has chipped in with nine of those as the Argentine has really upped his game this year. Things haven't been so good at the other end though as the Avellaneda based club have conceded 25 this term, which is one of the worst records in the league. All that has led to their matches averaging 3.24 goals each time, with 11 of their 17 rewarding under 2.5 layers.
It's been an up and down season for Newell's Old Boys as they've only performed in fits and starts. They've won six, drawn six and lost five of their 17 fixtures and that has left them down in ninth place. They come into this game on the back of two defeats, with the most recent one coming at home to an Arsenal team who hadn't won away all year.
Gustavo Raggio's men scored twice in that match, with the evergreen, Maxi Rodriguez netting both. He's been the leading light of their campaign and he sits joint top of the country's goal-scoring charts with Lucas Pratto and Silvio Romero. The ex Liverpool player will be gunning for his first ever Golden Boot and you couldn't back against him.
Both of these teams are usually good for goals, so with under 2.5 trading as low as 1.664/6, I have to make it my lay of the day.
