After a winner in Norway, Kev's taking us to slightly warmer climes in search of more profit.
"Huesca haven't won any of their last seven games, while Albacete have lost just one of their last seven outings."
Huesca v Albacete
Thursday 12 April, 19:00
We trusted Tromso last night, and they delivered. A 3-1 win over Stromsgodset in Norway comfortably covered our Over 2.5 Goals bet.
We'll switch our attention to Spain, and the race for promotion in the second tier. Huesca are third and still very much in the mix to go up, but they have come up with a catastrophic run of form at the worst possible time. The north-eastern club have failed to win any of their last seven matches in the Segunda, and have collected just three points in that sequence.
Five of those failures have been on the road, but they have also taken just a point from their last two games at the Estadio El Alcoraz, having drawn with Almeria and lost to Sporting Gijon.
Albacete are safely in mid-table, and that lack of pressure seems to agree with them. They have only lost one of their last seven games in the league, and on the road they are unbeaten in four. In the reverse fixture, they held Huesca to a goalless draw, and a win tonight would perhaps start murmurings about a promotion push.
Given the results over the course of the season, Huesca are clearly the better side, but the hosts' form has collapsed to such a degree that they surely can't be backed with any confidence at [1.65]. They haven't been dealing effectively with the pressure of the promotion race, and I'll happily oppose them here.
