Home And Away: More travelling glee for Djurgardens

Djurgardens are unfamiliar with the stench of away defeat

Jonno Turner is sticking with Scandinavia for the latest edition of Home And Away...

I went for a run yesterday but came back home after five minutes because I forgot something. I forgot that I'm fat and lazy and can't run for more than five minutes.

It was a bad day yesterday but don't sweat it. We're off to Finland for our first pick of the day as TPS welcome VPS to the Veritas Stadion, with the hosts looking to continue the excellent form they've shown on their home patch.

They have lost just one of their last eight in front of their fans, smashing in 19 goals in the last five of those, and a win today could lift them top of the table.

Visitors VPS travel in the midst of some miserable form, losing three of their last four Veikkausliiga fixtures. They will be praying that their luck turns soon, but having won just two of their last eight away games, you'd have to suspect that morale will have been hit.

In the bigger picture, they have won a mere five of their most recent 15 league games, which suggests that their problems go far beyond a temporary loss of form.

TPS have won the last three consecutive meetings between these sides, and I reckon they'll secure another victory here this afternoon.

Bet 1: TPS (HOME) to win @ 1.645/8

Staying in Scandinavia, we're focussing on the Allsvenskan in Sweden for today's final tip, as in-form Djurgardens travel to Atvidabergs aiming to extend their superb form on the road.

The visitors go into this game unbeaten in a whopping nine games on their travels, and will be eager to maintain that momentum during the final quarter of the campaign, with belief sure to be high that they can sustain the run right up to the finish.

But it's not just the results which have been impressive - it's the manner of those performances which will offer most encouragement. Ten goals in the last four, and two clean sheets in that time, is an example of just how dominant they have been of late.

Hosts Atvidaberg will be delighted with their first season back in the top tier but their results have taken a turn for the worse recently.

Eight league matches without a win suggests that a long, hard season has taken its toll and three consecutive losses will have knocked confidence. They will not fancy the visit of one of the division's form sides, especially as Djurgardens could climb the table with a victory.

Djurgardens have lost just one of their last six meetings with their hosts, and I expect them to take something from this game too - at cracking odds.

Bet 2: Djurgardens (AWAY) to win @ 3.185/40
