By the way, Happy New Year! We'll start 2017 in Israel, and a top of the table clash in the second tier, the Liga Leumit. The leaders Hapoel Akko are up against second-placed Maccabi Netanya.

Hapoel are three points clear at the top, and have taken ten points from their last four league games, scoring 11 goals in the process. However, their home form has been a bit patchy in recent weeks. They lost 3-2 at home to Ironi Nesher and were held to a 1-1 draw by Hapoel Afula, which means they have won just two of their last four matches at the Acre Municipal Stadium.

Like Hapoel Akko, Maccabi Netanya were relegated from the top flight at the end of last season. Although they trail the leaders, they are the only remaining unbeaten side in the division. They have the best defensive record in the league, and have the joint-best goal tally.

Maccabi are slight favourites here and that may well be because they smashed Hapoel Akko 4-0 in the reverse fixture. The visitors have won three of their last four away games, and overall they have taken maximum points from seven of their last nine outings.

In a tight contest with the market only slightly in favour of Maccabi, I'm happy to use Draw No Bet to back the visitors with a bit of insurance.
