Marseille have done superbly to reach a major European final, but Kev thinks that game could distract them tonight against Guingamp.
"Marseille are missing a couple of key players, and Guingamp have been excellent at home in recent weeks."
Guingamp v Marseille
Friday 11 May, 19:45
The Swiss champions rolled over yesterday, as Young Boys were smashed 5-1 at Basel. This is becoming a tricky week, but we press on.
It's turning into a great season for Marseille, but they are in danger of suffering something of an anti-climax. They have a very tricky Europa League final against Atletico Madrid next week, and they're in danger of missing out on qualifying for the Champions League through their Ligue 1 placing. Only the top three will make it, and l'OM are currently fourth.
Marseille's league form has been strong, with ten points collected from the last four games, but they are missing some key players this weekend. Luiz Gustavo and Adil Rami have paired up in central defence recently, but both are suspended, while defender Rolando is carrying a knock. Hiroki Sakai and striker Kostas Mitroglou are both doubtful for the game because of injury issues.
Guingamp have nothing to play for, and lost to Dijon last weekend, but their recent home form has been excellent. They have won their last three games at the Stade du Roudourou, including a very impressive 3-1 win over Monaco. It's also worth considering that they recently drew 2-2 at PSG.
Marseille wouldn't be human if they weren't distracted by their upcoming UEL final, and Guingamp have only lost one of their last six league matches. Marseille feel too short to me at [1.85].
