Eintracht Frankfurt v Hamburg

Yet again, Borussia Dortmund left us a goal short, as their nervy 1-0 win over Ingolstadt last night failed to cover the Asian Handicap. Coach Thomas Tuchel is officially off our Christmas card list, and it's only March.
That means we don't have enough money to fly anywhere, so instead we're taking the train to Frankfurt, as the out-of-form Eagles prepare to take on Hamburg at the Commerzbank Arena.
Eintracht Frankfurt have been exceeding expectations all season, fighting for a Champions League spot just a few months after coming through a tension-riddled relegation playoff against second-division Nurnberg. However, injuries and suspensions have gradually taken their toll, and Niko Kovac's side have lost their last five games.
That losing run is somewhat misleading though. Frankfurt actually played really well last week at Bayern Munich, creating lots of chances before eventually succumbing 3-0. They have been boosted by the return from suspension of reliable defender Bastian Oczipka, while top scorer Alex Meier is fit again after illness.
Hamburg have boosted their survival hopes with some big home wins of late, but away from the fierce backing of their fans at the atmospheric Volksparkstadion, HSV aren't anywhere near as effective. They have lost four of their last five away games, including an 8-0 drubbing at Bayern Munich, and a 3-1 defeat at fellow strugglers Ingolstadt that was arguably even worse.
Frankfurt are much better than their recent form suggests, they wiped the floor with Hamburg in the reverse fixture, and at the Commerzbank Arena they have won six times but only lost twice. I'm backing the hosts.
