Football Bet of the Day: May the Degerfors be with you

We're looking for a winner in Sweden
We're looking for a winner in Sweden

After an odds-against winner in Norway yesterday, Kevin Hatchard's looking for more Scandinavian success.

"Degerfors have won their last two home games 4-0 and 2-0, while Sirius are still looking for their first away victory of the campaign."

Degerfors v Sirius

Our trip to Norway proved to be a very pleasant experience. It's not often that an Over 3.5 Goals bet lands before half-time, but Stabaek and Rosenborg were deadlocked at 2-2 when the half-time whistle blew. As it turns out, Rosenborg extended their lead at the top of the Tippeligaen with a second-half winner, but by then we were already at the bar buying outrageously expensive Norwegian drinks.

It appears the Scandinavian air agrees with us, so we're making the short hop across to Sweden, and a second-division clash between Degerfors and Sirius.

In the mid-nineties Degerfors were an established top-flight club, but they have been bouncing around the lower leagues ever since they were relegated from the Allsvenskan in 1997. The last few seasons have brought hope of a return to the top flight, as the club have finished in the top seven in three of the last four campaigns.

Sirius have only been back in the second level for one season, after they were crowned as third-tier champions in 2013. They are currently fourth in the standings, with Degerfors a place behind them on goal difference.

There are two bets to look at here. The first is backing No in the Both Teams To Score market at 2.3411/8. Three of Sirius' four away games so far this season have ended 0-0, while Degerfors have conceded just two goals in four home games.

The other bet is backing Degerfors Draw No Bet at 2.31. The hosts have won their last two home games 4-0 and 2-0, and they have lost just one out of four at their Stora Valla ground. Sirius are yet to win in four road matches, and have failed to score in three of those outings.

Given that Degerfors have lost just seven of their last 35 home games in the league, I'm leaning towards the latter bet.
