Inspired DC to pick up another home win
Bet 1: Back Over DC United @ 19/20 - KO 01:00 BST (Thurs)
It's been all over the sports news and social media, so you probably haven't escaped seeing Wayne Rooney's heroics at the end of DC United's match against Orlando City at the weekend. With the scores level at 2-2, Rooney produced a lung-bursting run back, sliding challenge to prevent a certain goal and then a pinpoint long ball on to the head of teammate, Luciano Acosta, to complete his hat-trick and win the game 3-2 in the 96th minute.
That result took their tally to seven points from their last three games and confidence will be high around Audi Field. Ben Olsen's men may be bottom of the Eastern Conference, but they have many games in hand over all of the other teams, which if they won, would take them into the Play-off positions.
Even better for the hosts is that only six of their 20 matches have come in front of their own fans, and their record is four wins, one draw and one defeat. Their other 14 outings have come on the road, so their position in the standings is entirely false.
The Portland Timbers are their opponents tonight and they sit third in the Western Conference. They were beaten last time out though - at home by the Vancouver Whitecaps - and although they are undefeated in five on their travels, prior to that it had been just two points from a possible 15 this year.
Hosts to edge Copa do Brasil tie
Bet 2: Back Flamengo @ 21/20 - KO 01:45 BST (Thurs)
This is the second leg of the Copa do Brasil quarter-final tie between Flamengo and Gremio, and the scores are level at 1-1 each following the first game in Porto Alegre.
Flamengo's great season has just stuttered somewhat in recent weeks as they have been overhauled at the top of the league by Sao Paulo and they are on the ropes in the Copa Libertadores, having lost the first leg against countrymen, Cruzeiro, 2-0.
Mauricio Barbieri's side did win at the weekend though, as they beat their Copa Libertadores conquers, Cruzeiro, and that made it six wins from their last eight at home in all competitions.
Gremio also won at the weekend as they thumped, Vitoria, by four goals to nil. That was at home though, and away from home they have gone four without a victory in all competitions.
LA to get back on track against the poor travelling Real Salt Lake
Bet 3: Back Los Angeles FC @ 40/85 - KO 03:00 BST (Thurs)
It's been a tough few weeks for Los Angeles as they have gone five without a win in the MLS - three defeats and two draws - but they couldn't ask for a much better opponents to get back on track against tonight.
Real Salt Lake have a miserable away record as they have played 11 on their travels this season - won one, drawn two and lost eight. They weren't much better last year either, so it isn't like it's a recent thing.
Despite their poor run, the selection are still fifth in the standings and their record on this ground is 5-5-1 this term. They don't tend to concede too many goals here, and I strongly fancy them to get back to winning ways today.
