Paul Robinson brings us an EFL Carabao Cup treble for today's Daily Acca as he's predicting a couple of mild upsets. Here are his selections:

- Back Coventry @ 12/5
- Back Cardiff @ 4/5
- Back Luton @ 17/10

The Acca pays approximately 16/1

Bet 1: Back Coventry @ 12/5 - KO 19:45 BST

The Sky Blues got their campaign off to the best possible start as they ran out 3-0 winners against Notts County. Obviously that was in the fourth tier as Coventry's decline has been one of the more depressing sights in English football over the last few years, but they can only beat what was put in front of them.

Even in relegation last season, the team were pretty decent at home as they won plenty of games - especially towards the end of the campaign when Mark Robins returned to the club.

Their opponents this evening are also adjusting to life in a new division as Blackburn were relegated from the Championship. They are rated as one of the main contenders for promotion this year, but they didn't start well as they were beaten 2-1 at Southend United.

It's also questionable as to how seriously Tony Mowbray's side will take this competition, while the signs are that Coventry will do given their exploits in the Checkatrade Trophy last season. Mowbray's return to the Ricoh also adds further spice.

Bet 2: Back Cardiff @ 4/5 - KO 19:45 BST

Over to Wales now for today's second leg as Cardiff should prove too strong for Portsmouth.

Both of these teams won their opening fixtures of the season as Neil Warnock's men won 1-0 at Burton Albion, while Pompey beat Rochdale 2-0 at home. The Bluebirds could be live Play-off contenders this year under the wily, Warnock, as he improved them greatly when he arrived last term.

Kenny Jackett and his players will also be aiming for promotion, and if achieved it would be their second in as many years. They are too big a club to be out of the top two divisions, but you've got to do it on the pitch.

If Neil Warnock wasn't in charge of Cardiff I probably wouldn't be selecting them to win this match, but his will to win is second to none and I doubt that he will want to exit the cup at this early stage - even if it means extra matches for them.

Bet 3: Back Luton @ 17/10 - KO 19:45 BST

One of the highlights of the opening weekend of the football league season was Luton's annihilation of Yeovil Town. They thrashed them by eight goals to two and even at this early stage, they have set down a marker to their rivals.

Nathan Jones' side missed out in the Play-offs last year but they appear to be stronger this time around. James Collins has signed from Crawley Town and after netting 20 league goals last season, he couldn't have made a better start by scoring a hat-trick on Saturday.

Ipswich Town are the visitors to Kenilworth Road tonight and despite my negativity towards them at the weekend, they beat Birmingham 1-0. They were pretty poor in the first half though according to the reports and I'm still not convinced that they won't be in a relegation battle.

Mick McCarthy doesn't have a huge squad to choose from and I very much doubt that he will play a full strength XI here. Given that and Luton's confidence, I expect a win for the League Two team.
