There are plenty of games in Brazil's Serie A for Paul Robinson to sink his teeth into today and he's picked out a 9/2 treble that starts at Palmeiras. Here are his selections:

- Back BTTS in Palmeiras v Atletico MG @ 5/6
- Back Sport Recife @ 21/20
- Back Cruzeiro @ 4/9

The Acca pays approximately 9/2

Goals at both ends of Allianz Parque

Bet 1: Back BTTS in Palmeiras v Atletico MG @ 5/6 - KO 20:00 BST

It's seventh versus third in the city of Sao Paulo this evening, and with just three points between the two of them, we should be on for an exciting match-up.

The hosts and champions of 2016 would have been hoping to have been higher up than they are, but the season is only 13 games old and they have a game in hand over the top two - albeit that they trail leaders, Flamengo by 10 points.

Atletico Mineiro went into the break for the World Cup on fire with three consecutive victories - wins that pushed them up to third in the table - but they suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat at Gremio in the week, and they need to bounce back here.

Palmeiras were also involved in midweek action as they picked up a decent 1-1 draw at Santos. That was their third match in a row to see this selection land, and the same can be said for their last three on this ground.

Other than drawing a blank at Gremio, the visitors have been banging in the goals this term, and they are the division's top scorers. They netted 10 times in their five away games prior to Wednesday, and that includes two at both Sao Paulo and Sport Recife.

Sport to show their Copa Libertadores credentials

Bet 2: Back Sport Recife @ 21/20 - KO 20:00 BST

Talking of Sport Recife, I'm keen on Claudinei Oliveira's side getting the three points at home to Fluminense this evening.

Sport were beaten 1-0 at Ceara during the week, which is a pretty bad result when you consider that their opponents are bottom of the league. The Recife based club have never been strong travelers though and they tend to do most of their winning at home.

This season their record reads; played six, won three and drawn three in front of their own fans. What is even more impressive is that they have already faced Corinthians, Atletico Mineiro and Gremio.

Fluminense ended a four match losing streak by scoring an 89th minute equalizer at Vasco da Gama on Thursday - a goal which also cost us a 12/1 Daily Acca.

I am still not convinced by their credentials for this season though and they have already lost four times away from home (played seven). Granted, that midweek point might boost their confidence a bit, but it was a last-gasp goal to save them, and today's opponents are slightly stronger.

More misery for Atletico PR

Bet 3: Back Cruzeiro @ 4/9 - KO 23:00 BST

When I first started following Brazilian football a few years ago, Atletico PR were my favourite club as they had upset the odds to have a magnificent season and qualify for the Copa Libertadores.

A mid-table finish last season was a respectable, if not more realistic effort, but this year has started badly and I do fear for them a little bit. The Hurricane are third from bottom having lost seven of their 13 outings to date, however it is worth noting that they managed a draw against Cruzeiro in the Copa do Brasil, and a 2-2 draw at home to Internacional - with both fixture being played in the last week.

Cruzeiro followed up that cup draw with a 3-1 victory over America Mineiro and that result moved them up to sixth in the table. They have been deadly at home this term since an opening 1-0 loss to Gremio, as since then it's 10 points from a possible 12 - with three of the four wins being to nil, and that could become five from six here as the visitors have scored one away goal all year.
