The Football League is back and Paul Robinson thinks that it could be a good year for Nottingham Forest. Here are his selections:

New-look Forest to lay down a marker
Bet 1: Back Nottingham Forest @ 7/4 - KO 15:00 BST
It's been a busy summer for Aitor Karanka as the former Middlesbrough boss has brought in 11 new faces to the City Ground. Joao Carvalho and Tobias Pereira Figueiredo have come over from Portugal, and more familiar names such as Michael Dawson and Lewis Grabban have also freshened things up.
Things have been good on the field as well during pre-season as Forest have won three of their last four friendlies - including a victory over Bournemouth last time out. This isn't the easiest fixture to start with, but I doubt that confidence could be much higher.
Bristol City on the other hand have failed to win any of their last four friendlies - drawing three and losing one. They finished six places higher and 14 points better off than Forest last year, but Lee Johnson doesn't have the budget of his counterpart.
The Robins finished the previous campaign with just four wins from their final 11 fixtures at Ashton Gate and although the visitors were no great shakes away from the City Ground, this could be the beginning of a new dawn for the Nottingham club.
Robins to be chirping on return to League One
Bet 2: Back Coventry @ 6/4 - KO 15:00 BST
The Sky Blues are back in the third tier of English football and there appears to be a bit of a feel-good factor back at the club. I am not suggesting that everything is rosy, as the club owners are still in dispute with the fans, but the team are on the up and Mark Robins has been influential in that.
This is his second spell at the Ricoh and he has the team playing great football. Unfortunately he couldn't keep hold of Mark McNulty over the summer, but he has plenty of young players at his disposal - including new-boy, Dexter Walters.
Today's opponents are Scunthorpe United and they finished last season well to make the Play-offs. Things didn't work out for them however as they lost over two legs to Rotherham, and they haven't performed well in pre-season either.
I'm backing the newly promoted team to carry their momentum into this campaign, and with home advantage to boot, 6/4 feels like a decent price for a Coventry win.
Pompey to pull some goals out of the Hatters
Bet 3: Back Over 2.5 Goals in Portsmouth v Luton @ 11/10 - KO 15:00 BST
This League One fixture is all about goals as Luton enter the division having topped the average goals per game charts in League Two last year. Their matches averaged 3.04 goals each time, with 26 of their 20 seeing this selection land.
Nathan Jones' men banged in a huge total of 94 goals themselves, which was 15 more than any other side. Given that attacking football worked so well for them last year, I can't see that their tactics will change at this higher level.
Pompey were only 16th of 24 when it came to average goals per game in League One last season, but their games still averaged 2.46 goals per 90 minutes, and 22 of their 46 ended with the ball in the net on three or more occasions.
