The start of the World Cup is a mere five days away and Paul Robinson is focusing on some warm-up matches that feature at least two live contenders to win it. Here are his selections:
The Acca pays approximately 12/1
Tight affair expected in Brondby
Bet 1: Back The Draw in Denmark v Mexico @ 21/10 - KO 19:00 BST
Both Denmark and Mexico are heading to Russia, but the pair of them have struggled for goals of late. They haven't been getting bad results, but the Dane's have netted just one in three and the same can be said for the Mexicans.
Low-scoring teams are always a positive when it comes to backing the draw, and the hosts come into this match on the back of two 0-0 draws. The visitors beat Scotland 1-0 last weekend, but prior to that they were held by to a goalless draw by Wales.
I see no reason to suspect that this fixture will suddenly throw up a different pattern, and neither side will want to go into their first group game on the back of a defeat.
Spain and Tunisia to give us goals
Bet 2: Back Over 2.5 Goals in Tunisia v Spain @ 5/6 - KO 19:45 BST
One of the pre-tournament favourites are Spain and fellow Betting.Betfair contributor, Jamie Pacheco. thinks that Spain look like the real deal.
Julen Lopetegui's men haven't lost a game since they were knocked out of the Euros by Italy in 2016 and while they have drawn three of their last five friendlies, one of them was against Germany and the victory was a 6-1 thrashing of Argentina.
Tonight's match against Tunisia gives them the ideal opportunity to get back in the groove ahead of their huge opening game against Portugal next Friday, and it will also help them acclimatise to Russia as it's being played in Krasnodar.
The Tunisians are unbeaten in nine themselves, and although they faced easier opposition on the whole, it is worth noting that their two latest friendlies saw them draw 2-2 with both Portugal and Turkey.
I can definitely see Nabil Maâloul's side creating a few chances at least this evening, and that makes over 2.5 goals a decent bet at a shade of odds-on. Even more so when you consider that Spain have had eight of their last 11 end with three goals or more.
France to be denied the clean sheet
Bet 3: Back BTTS in France v USA @ 5/4 - KO 20:00 BST
The French wave goodbye to their country in Lyon tonight as they head to Russia with a serious chance of lifting the World Cup for only the second time in their history.
The champions of 1998 face a group that contains Australia, Peru and Denmark, which Andrew Atherley's assessment of can be found here.
Today they take on USA, and Didier Deschamps will be in confident mood having seen his players ease past Ireland and Italy during the last couple of weeks.
I can't imagine that the States will provide them any danger when it comes to the match result of this game, but I think that 5/4 for both teams to score is a touch on the generous side.
The Americans may have missed out on qualifying for Russia, but they rarely fail to find the net. They have fired blanks in just two of their last 22 fixtures, and it's only one clean sheet in five for France.
